Microplates
Finding the Right Plate For Your Needs.
Based on compliance with ANSI/SLAS standards, almost all assay plates are suitable for automated plate readers and washers.
Available in 96-, 384- and 1536-well formats and nine different surfaces created through specialised plasma treatments and coatings.
Applications
Depending on their pigmentation, they can be used for colorimetric, luminescence or fluorescence assays.
Untreated Microplates
Alpha Laboratories
Microplates from Alpha Laboratories are manufactured from uncoated, transparent polystyrene - static-free.
BRAND pureGrade™
Produced from pure, newly synthesised polystyrene with a non-treated and non-sterile surface. Particularly applicable for homogenous assays, screening, and for storage.
BRAND pureGrade™ S
Produced from pure, newly synthesised polystyrene with a non-treated and sterile surface. Sterilised via β-radiation according to ISO 11137 and AAMI directive. Especially suited for bacteriological assays.
Microplates for Immunoassays
BRAND immunoGrade™
Optimised for the immobilisation of IgG, offering highest binding capacity for molecules with mixed hydrophilic and hydrophobic regions. The surface of choice for the majority of standard ELISAs. Suitable for solid phase immunoassays.
BRAND hydroGrade™
Strongly hydrophilic, with high affinity to hydrophilic molecules, such as glycoproteins and peptides, antibodies with predominantly hydrophilic regions, and nucleic acids. An alternative to the immunoGrade™ surface when performing solid phase assays. Alternative for homogeneous assays with hydrophobic molecules that remain in solution.
BRAND lipoGrade™
Strongly hydrophobic (lipophilic), for immobilisation of biomolecules with predominantly hydrophobic regions. An alternative to the immunoGrade™ surface for the immobilisation of molecules such as lipoproteins or peptides. Specially suited for liquid phase assays when the reaction component should stay in solution. The majority of hydrophilic biomolecules are not immobilised on this surface.
Cell Culture Microplates
BRAND cellGrade™
For the cultivation of adherent cell lines. PS-surface with different chemical groups, such as carboxyl and hydroxyl groups, that are freely accessible, allowing serum components to easily bind for indirect adhesion of cells. Surface is hydrophilic compared with non-treated PS.
BRAND cellGrade™ plus
For reduced-serum media cultivation of fastidious cell lines. In addition to carboxyl and hydroxyl chemical groups, free amino groups are present on the surface, allowing cells to directly attach and spread out, resulting in faster adhesion and better yield. Sensitive cell lines can be cultivated.
BRAND cellGrade™ premium
Poly-D-Lysine-equivalent surface, with analogous results regarding growth performance and cell morphology. Optimal adhesion of cells to the surface reduces cell damage when washing frequently. Surface suited for serum-free and serum-reduced cultivation of cells. Alternative option to biologically coated surfaces.
BRAND inertGrade™
Especially suited for cell cultures when adhesion is not desired. Optimised surface characteristics reduce cell adhesion and protein adsorption, minimising enzyme and cellular activation. Inhibits early differentiation of stem cells.
PrimeSurface®
PrimeSurface® cultureware are ultra low attachment (ULA) dishes and plates that promote scaffold free, self assembly of spheroid formation. The plates are pre-coated with unique ultra hydrophilic polymer that enables spontaneous spheroid formation of uniform size and shape. The ULA plates have high optical clarity making them highly suitable for bright field imaging and confocal microscopy.
Well Shapes
U-well - Suited for stirring and washing of samples, and may be applicable for homogenous assays, screening, and for storage.
V-well - Maximise sample recovery and are especially suited for precipitation assays and storage.
F-well - Flat bottomed well is designed for precise optical measurements and is well suited for colorimetric determinations as well as microscopy applications.
C-well - Combines the advantages of U-bottom and F-bottom. Specially suited for immunological assays, as sample stirring has a major impact on precise assay results as well as optical measurement to determine those results.
Benefits
BRANDplates® microplates are manufactured under advanced, ISO class 7 cleanroom conditions and packaged using a fully automated process. This ensures the highest possible purity, even for non-sterilised assay plates.
