ACT Environmental Impact Factor (EIF) Verification for Fastrak® and FastZAP™ Pipette Tips
Alpha Laboratories' eco-conscious pipette tip products, Fastrak® and FastZAP™ have received third party verification from the non-profit organisation “My Green Lab®”.
ACT certification emphasises Accountability, Consistency, and Transparency around manufacturing, energy and water use, packaging, and end-of-life. This makes it easier for labs to choose more sustainable products, by looking for those with lower ACT scores. Alpha tips received low EIF ratings due to responsible manufacturing processes and sustainable packaging, plus recycling and tree planting schemes.

Alpha Beach Clean
Several of our staff members participated in a beach clean at one of our local beaches. We collected a range of debris, mostly small fragments of plastic, which had washed up onto the shore. Across the first 100m area these were logged for the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) Litter survey. This data will be submitted to help the MCS monitor litter streams across the UK, implementing strategies to better keep our beaches clean and safe for all.
Engaging Alpha staff in events such as the beach clean is a great way to bring environmental impacts to reality and make a positive contribution to improvements. We thank all staff members who got involved.
