Faecal Pancreatic Elastase Assays

Pancreatic insufficiency is the reduction of production or transportation of the digestive enzymes which results in the inability to properly digest a meal (fats, proteins and carbohydrates).

Alpha Laboratories offers a rapid, high throughput method for measuring pancreatic elastase in faecal samples to screen for exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. The turbidimetric BÜHLMANN fPELA® assay utilises the same CALEX extraction device as the fCAL turbo assay, so it is possible to run both tests from a single extract.

If your Elastase test request number is too low to achieve a reasonable turn-around time using a laboratory method, the new simple to use Quantum Blue® Elastase assay provides a comprehensive, low-cost Elastase testing platform.
