Bilirubin
Although Diazo based methods of bilirubin determination are widely used they can be prone to negative interference from haemoglobin and when presented with haemolysed samples there is a risk that results below the true value may be reported.
Haemoglobin negatively affects the method and therefore results below the true value may be reported. In contrast, high levels of Ascorbic Acid can falsely elevate the test result.
In answer to the Bilirubin problem Wako has developed a Vanadate Oxidation Method which is unaffected in this way and ensures results are on target.
