PYROSTAR is Fujifilm Wako’s range of endotoxin testing instruments and reagents, based on the Limulus Amoebocyte Lysate (LAL) assay.

The LAL assay operates using lysate isolated from the blood of the Atlantic Horseshoe Crab (Limulus polyphemus). When exposed to bacterial endotoxins, generally arising from lipopolysaccharides (LPS) in the bacterial cell wall, these lysates coagulate and in turn cause the crab’s blood to clot. The Pyrostar LAL assay harnesses this process to provide the most sensitive endotoxin detection method.

Due to this high sensitivity, any reagents and equipment used in endotoxin testing must be sterilised to the point that they are free of endotoxins or any other substances that could affect the reaction, a process known as depyrogenation. To this end we provide a range of endotoxin free accessories and equipment, providing all you need to perform your endotoxin testing with complete confidence.

These PYROSTAR BioClean 96 well microplates are guaranteed to be endotoxin free, with an endotoxin concentration of less than 0.005EU per tip, whilst also being free from substances that interfere with the endotoxin testing reaction. They are provided individually packaged with dust-free protection to maintain this high level of sterility, also making them perfect for use in clean rooms. Compatible for use with most standard plate readers these plates can fit seamlessly into your existing workflow.
