QuickGene
The QuickGene system provides a novel method for DNA and RNA extraction utilising an innovative porous membrane, 10 times thinner than conventional methods, that uses the gentler approach of air compression compared to centrifugation. Which results in increased length, purity, and yield of nucleic acid chains. Kits for use with a wide range of sample types available, including whole blood, tissue and cultured cells.
Unlike some other DNA extraction kits, which often contain phenol and chloroform, QuickGene kits use non-hazardous organic solvents to provide a safer work environment.
Utilising compressed air powered solid-phase extraction QuickGene offers improved isolation and purification of DNA and RNA from a wide variety of sources. A much gentler process to pass samples through the membrane.
As with other solid-phase extraction techniques QuickGene passes samples through a thin, hydrophobic membrane allowing hydrophilic molecules to pass through whilst keeping hydrophobic molecules, such as nucleic acids, retained in the membrane for elution and collection.
Compressed air better protects nucleic acids, providing longer, more complete strands, all whilst retaining impeccable sample purity and yield, giving you more confidence in your results.
The major improvement QuickGene makes over traditional solid-phase extraction methods is its use of innovative thinner membranes. These allow the use of compressed air to force samples through said membrane instead of the traditional, harsher centrifugation methods.

Unlike some other kits, which often contain phenol and chloroform, QuickGene kits use non-hazardous organic solvents to provide a safer work environment. Once processed, the isolated and purified RNA is suitable for use in many downstream analyses including, among others: COVID-19 testing, sequencing, PCR and digestion.
The QuickGene-Auto24S can process 24 samples up to 200μL in volume, in a single run, taking just 20-50 minutes depending on sample type and protocol used.
Benefits
Thinner Membranes=Better results. QuickGene porous membranes are just 100μm thick, merely 10% of the size of traditional, 1000μm thick glass fibre membranes, as a result much weaker forces are needed to force samples through said membrane. This allows for the elimination of centrifugation steps, improving workflow and extraction and isolation in many ways:
Ease of use: QuickGene instruments are operated by a single switch, no differing forces or speeds as with centrifugation
Safety: Eliminates the dangers of misused centrifuges, e.g. improper balancing etc
