Non-Esterified Fatty Acids (NEFA)

Non-esterified fatty acid (NEFA) in serum binding albumin is used as an important energy source for peripheral tissues. The amount of NEFA in serum depends on a balance between intake in liver and peripheral tissues, and the release from adipose tissues.

The amount of NEFA decreases by physical exercise and increases by starvation, cold, fear or smoking.

An increase or decrease of NEFA is observed in diabetes, hepatic diseases or endocrine diseases.

Vitamin B6 Enzymatic Assay

The Vitamin B6 enzymatic assay is intended for the quantitative determination of Pyridoxal 5’-phosphate (PLP, Vitamin B6) in EDTA plasma. Measurement of Vitamin B6 allows for detection of potential deficiency or overdose.

  • Dual reconstituted/liquid stable reagent

  • Assay range: 9-250nmol/L

  • Calibrators and Controls included

Zinc (without deproteinisation)

For direct colorimetric determination of zinc in serum, plasma and seminal fluid without deproteinisation.

  • No deproteinisation step

  • Linear up to 2000µg/dL

  • On-board stability is typically 30 days

Zinc forms a stable coloured complex with 5-Br-PAPS, colour intensity is proportional to the amount of Zinc in the sample.
