Product Information
PYROSTAR is Fujifilm Wako’s range of endotoxin testing instruments and reagents, based on the Limulus Amoebocyte Lysate (LAL) assay.
The assay operates using lysate isolated from the blood of the Atlantic Horseshoe Crab (Limulus polyphemus). When exposed to bacterial endotoxins, generally arising from lipopolysaccharides (LPS) in the bacterial cell wall, these lysates coagulate and in turn cause the crab’s blood to clot. Pyrostar's LAL assay harnesses this to provide the most sensitive endotoxin detection method approved by the FDA.
Control Standard Endotoxin (CSE) is a lyophilised solution containing 500ng of endotoxin per vial. Through serial dilution it is used to create positive control samples and sample curves for use with Gel Clot Assay (GCA), Kinetic Turbidimetric Assay (KTA) and Kinetic Colorimetric Assay (KCA) methods. Wako’s CSE is purified from the UKT-B strain E.Coli strain to provide an accurate, reliable and dependable standard for your endotoxin testing.
This pack consists of 6 vials, each containing 500ng of CSE.
Reconstituted CSE can be stored at 2-10°C for 1 month.
