Product Information

The Quantum Blue™ Reader (BI-POCTR-ABS3) analyses colorimetric tests using camera technolgy and is designed for use with the BÜHLMANN lateral flow cartridges for the quantitative determination of calprotectin from faeces and serum, and for rapid drug & antibody testing for infliximab and adalimumab. The compact, bench top device ideal for point-of-care, clinic or low throughput laboratory settings for screening and monitoring of patients.

The touch screen display together with an intuitive graphic user interface allows quick navigation and easy step-by-step tutorial screens. The camera-based reading technology increases robustness of result analysis even further than the previous Quantum Blue® Readers. The Lot specific calibration curve and other parameters are uploaded via a barcode card directly by the system camera.

Connectivity of the reader via ethernet port enables connecting the device to laboratory and hospital information systems (via Connect Software enables HL7 based communication interface). The new Quantum Blue® Reader supports the direct patient barcode scanning and result printing allowing customers to connect a printer and barcode scanner (not provided) via USB ports.

A clear digital reading in µg/g means no subjectivity in the analysis. The fast and precise imaging allows the detection of quantitative results in 15 minutes (excluding sample preparation) and the data are stored automatically and can be printed or translated to a computer, if required.
This method of analysis is ideal for Point of care settings, low volume laboratories, or labs which need rapid turn-around time.

Cleaning/decontamination:
In order to clean the Quantum Blue® Reader housing, use a damp cloth moistened with water or a mild detergent. If the dirt is persistent, rub the surface of the Quantum Blue® Reader with a cloth moistened with 70% alcohol solvent. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents such as acetone.
For more persistent stains and for disinfecting the instrument, it is possible to clean the surface with a cloth dipped in 1% bleach (1% active chlorine) followed by wiping with water. The procedure can be repeated 2-3 times. It is also possible to use 70% alcohol solvent to wipe off the remaining traces of bleach. Spillage of potentially infectious material should be wiped off immediately and materials used to clean spills, including gloves, should be disposed according to biohazard waste guidelines. The test cassette holder should be cleaned using dust free swabs or appropriate cloths. Do not use objects that could damage or scratch the surface.
