Pre-mixed Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS) (-) free from calcium and magnesium ions, 5L. This sterile, dilute and ready-to-use buffer is ideal for washing cells before trypsinisation as the ion free formula will not inhibit the enzyme activity. This balanced salt solution maintains pH and osmotic pressure. In addition to cell culture this buffer may also be used in proteomics for example as a Western blot buffer or in immunoassays such as ELISAs.
