Product Information
DGGE Marker I (5 Fragments) molecular marker produced by Nippon Gene and distributed in association with Wako Pure Chemicals
DGGE Markers are DNA standards for use with denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE). DGGE is a type of electrophoresis in which a constant heat and increasing concentration of denaturing chemicals are used to force DNA molecules to unwind or ‘melt’. Melting domains are the result of a stretch of base pairs with identical melting temperature, any variations of DNA sequence within these melting domains will result in different melting temperatures enabling the sequences to migrate at different positions within the gel. This enables the technique to distinguish between wild type and mutated sequences.
DGGE Marker I contains 5 fragments, a GC clamp is added at the end of one side of each fragment to enable separation /inspection by DGGE. This molecular marker may be useful for analysis of mutations in bacterial 16S rDNA. Polyacrylamide gels containing these standards can be stained with ethidium bromide, SYBR green or SYBR Gold.
Concentration 50ng/5µl
30µl for 6 applications
Store at -20C.
