Anti-3R-Tau rat monoclonal antibody clone 2A1-1F4 produced by FUJIFILM Wako Chemical Corporation
Tau is a microtubule-associated protein, mainly expressed in neurons in the central nervous system, and regulates stabilisation of microtubules. In the brains of Alzheimer’s disease patients, neurofibrillary tangles are formed with are composed of accumulated phosphorylated forms of Tau. The degree of these tangles correlates to the severity of dementia. Based on this finding, Tau has been investigated to find out the aetiology and discover drugs for Alzheimer’s disease. Tau is classified into 3R-Tau and 4R-Tau which have 3 and 4 microtubule associated domains respectively. This antibody specifically recognises 3 Repeat Tau.
