Alpha 1 Acid Glycoprotein Immunoturbidimetric Assay manufactured by Sentinel Diagnostics

Increased levels of Alpha-1-Acid Glycoprotein may occur in inflammatory processes and tumours with cell necrosis. The level of Alpha-1-Acid Glycoprotein may also be used to differentiate between acute phase reactions (elevated serum level) and oestrogen effectd (normal or decreased serum level).
The Sentinel Diagnostics Alpha-1- Acid Glycoprotein assay is suitable for use with serum or plasma (heparin or EDTA) samples. The quantitative immunoturbidimetric method is based upon the specific reaction between the Alpha-1- Acid Glycoprotein polyclonal antibody and target antigen in the presence of polyethylenglycol (PEG) polymer at optimal pH. The turbidity resulting from the immunocomplex is proportional to the concentration of Alpha-1- Acid Glycoprotein in the sample.

Each kit contains Reagent A:2x50ml PEG buffer, Reagent B:2x1ml antibody and Reagent C:1x10ml Good’s Buffer and a 20ml empty service vial for preparation of Solution BC. Reagents should be stored at 2-8C. Open vial stability for Reagent A at 2-8C is 120 days. Once combined Solution BC is stable at 2-8°C for up to 60 days if contamination is avoided and vial recapped immediately after use. The recommended calibrator is the Plasma Protein Calibrator (11200D) and the suggested QCs are the Immunocontrol set (11211A).
