The APEX® Tethered Screw-Cap is a polypropylene flat cap that incorporates a silicone O-Ring for a secure, leak-proof seal. Each screw cap has a height of 6.10mm and outer diameter of 12.95mm. Attached to the cap is a polypropylene tether ring with an outer diameter of 13.21mm and inner diameter of 10.92mm that allows the cap to be affixed to the microcentrifuge tube. The distance from the centre of the ring to the centre of the cap is 25.4mm. The caps can be used within the temperature range -196C to 121C making them suitable for boiling applications and storage of frozen samples. However they should not be immersed in liquid nitrogen. APEX® Tethered Screw-Caps are certified free of RNase, DNase and DNA. The tethered screw-caps are compatible with the APEX® Screw-Cap Microcentrifuge Tubes (Catalogue Numbers: CP5910-CP5915). They are internally threaded and a ¾ turn provides a tight and secure seal between the cap and microcentrifuge tube. The APEX® Tethered Screw-Caps are supplied non-sterile in green but are also available in a wide variety of other colours. They come in a pack of 500.
