Product Information
Achromopeptidase® TBL-1 purified bacteriolytic enzyme produced by Wako Pure Chemicals
Achromopeptidase, originally isolated from the soil bacterium discovered by Masaki, et al., has a broad range of bacteriolytic activity, lysing the cell walls of many pathological Gram-positive organisms as well as a number of Gram-negative organisms. Both purified (015-09951) and crude (014-09661) forms are available.
Lyophilised enzyme
100,000 U
One unit of enzyme is defined as that which when present in 1ml of substrate suspension of lyophilised Micrococcus lysodeikticus IF O 3333 in Tris-HCl buffer caused turbidity (absorbance at 600nm) to decrease at the rate of 0.001 per minute at pH 8.0 and 37C.
Optimum pH 7.5-8.5
Source: Bacteria. Originally the source of this product was indicated as Achromobacter lyticus based on physiological and morphological properties of the bacteria. It was subsequently confirmed that the 16SrDNA sequence was highly homologous to that of Lysobacter.
