Fibroblast Growth Factor (basic) Human bFGF/bFGF/FGF-2 50µg produced by FUJIFILM Wako Chemical Corporation
Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF, basicity) is expressed in a wide range of tissues from the fetal to adult stage. Possessing extremely diverse functions, the factor promotes proliferation and migration of cultured vascular endothelial cells and has been found to stimulate angiogenesis through involvement in protease activity and lumen formation. In addition, bFGF has also been discovered to be associated with bone and cartilage production as well as central nervous system regulation.
This product is recombinant human cytokine which is produced without using any substances from animals in the process of culture or purification.
This is human recombinant bFGF (rh basic FGF) expressed in E Coli.

Lyophilised from a 10 mmol/L Sodium Phosphate, pH7.4, 112.5 mmol/L NaCl.
Molecular weight: 17,200
Biological activity: The ED50 is less than 0.5ng/ml, determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF receptors, corresponding to a specific activity of >2x106 units/mg protein.
Reconstitute in water to give a concentration of 0.1-1.0mg/ml. This working solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
Endotoxin: less than 0.1ng/µg
Store -20°C
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
