Acidic fibroblast growth factor (aFGF, acidity) is a non-glycosylated heparin-binding growth factor expressed by CNS neurons, renal cells, retina, smooth muscle cells, cells of the bone matrix, osteoblasts, astrocytes and endothelial cells. aFGF is involved in the proliferation/differentiation/survival of various types of tissue.

This product is recombinant human cytokine which is produced without using any substances from animals in the process of culture or purification.

Biological activity: The ED₅₀ is less than 10ng/ml, determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF receptors, corresponding to a specific activity of >1x10⁶ units/mg protein.

Reconstitute in 5mmol/L Sodium Phosphate (pH8.0) to a concentrationof less than 0.5mg/ml. Do not vortex. This working solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
