The Drummond Pipet-Aid® Plain with TC Nosepiece is a pipetting controller designed for automated liquid aspiration and dispensing using 1-100ml glass or plastic serological pipettes.

This is part of the Original Pipet-Aid® range and is fully mains operated (without battery). It incorporates an EZ Grip TC filter nosepiece. Unlike portable models, a separate hand piece with no electrical components allows for effective autoclaving, eliminating bacterial and viral contamination.

The Pipet-Aid® Plain with TC Nosepiece incorporates a self-locking, dual layer filter comprising a hydrophobic 0.8μm membrane and a hydrophilic 0.8μm membrane, which provide a barrier to particles as small as 0.1μm. These unique filters serve to both protect the Pipet-Aid® and guard against cross-contamination. When liquid is drawn into the filter by over aspiration, the hydrophobic layer prevents fluid from entering the handle whilst the wet hydrophilic layer restricts airflow, effectively ‘locking’ the pipette and preventing further use until the filter is replaced. Although with conventional, single layer, hydrophobic filters, the pipette controller is protected from over-pipetting (as aspirated liquid will not pass through the filter), subsequent use can blow out contaminants from the filter when dispensing.

The Drummond Pipet-Aid® Plain with TC Nosepiece comes with a one year warranty. It is supplied with a UK charger.
