The Drummond Pipet-Aid® XP² is a pipetting controller designed for automated liquid aspiration and dispensing using 1-100ml glass or plastic serological pipettes.

The Pipet-Aid® XP² raises the industry standard for pipetting comfort, convenience and control. The ergonomic design includes a 221gram lightweight structure with a smooth-touch operating button. The unit can be charged while in use, providing, uninterrupted, extended operation and an LED light indicates when mains power is not connected.

The ultra-quiet precision pump provides excellent control when aspirating and dispensing. The unit has 3 speeds for aspiration and dispensing and is powered by a 3.6V NiMH rechargeable battery.

The Pipet-Aid® XP² incorporate a self-locking, dual layer filter comprising a hydrophobic 0.8μm membrane and a hydrophilic 0.8μm membrane, which provide a barrier to particles as small as 0.1μm. These unique filters serve to both protect the Pipet-Aid® XP² and guard against cross-contamination. When liquid is drawn into the filter by over aspiration, the hydrophobic layer prevents fluid from entering the handle whilst the wet hydrophilic layer restricts airflow, effectively ‘locking’ the pipette and preventing further use until the filter is replaced. Although with conventional, single layer, hydrophobic filters, the pipette controller is protected from over-pipetting (as aspirated liquid will not pass through the filter), subsequent use can blow out contaminants from the filter when dispensing.

The Drummond Pipet-Aid® XP² comes with a one year warranty. It is supplied with a UK charger, spare filters, holster bracket and a detachable stand for resting the Pipet-Aid® when it is not in use.
