The YA-CRYPTOCOCCUS ANTIBODY TUBE
AGGLUTINATION SYSTEM is a semi-quantitative
test that detects antibodies against Cryptococcus
neoformans in the serum of patients with
Cryptococcosis, to aid in the diagnosis of
disease.
In immunocompetent patients, the YA_CRYPTOCOCCUS
ANTIBODY TUBE AGGLUTINATION SYSTEM is most effective for
detecting antibodies in serum against C.
neoformans in early, localized, infection and/or if therapy
has been successfully administered. The
greatest sensitivity for diagnosing Cryptococcosis
cases is achieved with parallel serological studies
for both antigen (product CR1003, CR1004, &
CR1005) and antibody (product YA1001)
BIOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES
The YA-CRYPTOCOCCUS ANTIBODY TUBE

test based upon the principle that yeast cells of
weakly encapsulated C. neoformans strains will
agglutinate with patient specimens
