Product Information
Sperm-Chex® is an assayed control intended for monitoring sperm counts performed manually using commercially available counting chambers to validate quantification of sperm in seminal fluids. It is the only sperm count control on the market that contains sperm cells.
Sperm-Chex has two clinically significant levels of control to simulate the sperm cell concentration that laboratories encounter in patient samples:
Level 1: 4.0 – 6.0 sperm x 106/mL
Level 2: 36.0 – 54.0 sperm x 106/mL
Microscopic evaluation of semen includes the determination of sperm concentration. The sperm count can provide valuable information regarding infections, stress and fertility. When handled like a patient sample, Sperm-Chex controls will provide sperm counts within the expected ranges indicated on the assay sheet.
Sperm Chex has 12-month closed-vial and 42-days open-vial stability.
