ESR-Chex Plus is an assayed bi-level control for evaluating the accuracy and precision of automated Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) methods. Clinical laboratories are required to establish quality control programs for automated and semiautomated procedures. Daily use of ESR-Chex Plus provides assurance that the erythrocyte sedimentation rate procedure is being performed properly. ESR-Chex Plus is designed to be handled in the same manner as a patient specimen. There are several factors concerning the environment and techniques that may affect the outcome of erythrocyte sedimentation rate methods. When these are properly controlled, the values recovered with ESRChex Plus will be within the Expected Ranges printed on the assay. Accurate analysis of patient specimens is assured. ESR-Chex Plus contains stabilized human red blood cells in a preservative medium
