CapilliSafe Pastette 50µl for collecting liquid via capillary action

These clever CapilliSafe™ Pastettes® enable collection of a known volume of liquid (in this case 50µl +/-15%), and delivery of the same volume to a test system. Intended as an alternative to glass capillary tubes, which can be dangerous, are expensive, and require coating to prevent retention of the liquid in the tube.

These CapilliSafe™ Pastettes are perfect for users that may have limited or no experience of pipetting techniques.

Instructions for use

1. Hold the CapilliSafe Pastette bulb gently at a horizontal position to the liquid to be collected. This is important as the capillary action may not be effective if the CapilliSafe Pastette is held in a vertical position.
2. Place the tip of the CapilliSafe Pastette into the liquid, taking care not to squeeze the bulb. Maintain this position until the flow of liquid into the CapilliSafe has stopped.
3. Aspiration of the liquid is very quick. If the volume of liquid does not reach the tiny hole in the stem of the pipette, squeeze out some more liquid and repeat the pipette filling operation until the filling stops.
4. Dispense the liquid into an appropriate container/cartridge by squeezing the bulb until the liquid is fully discharged.
5. Dispose of the used CapilliSafe Pastette in an appropriate manner.
