These disposable, sterile test tubes are perfect for a wide variety of laboratory applications.

Manufactured from virgin polystyrene using precision moulding techniques, each tube is produced to tight tolerances of size and shape, ready to use straight from the pack. No mould release agents are used in the manufacturing process, minimising contaminants and rendering the tubes biologically inert. This use of transparent virgin polystyrene provides a strong, clear tube capable of use with centrifugation speeds of up to 1400g and temperatures up to 70C.

These polystyrene tubes are supplied with a 2-position ribbed polyethylene cap. This cap is designed to be used in 1 of 2 ways. If the cap is left loose, air can freely move into and out of the tube, providing an aerobic environment within the tube. However, if the cap is firmly pressed into the tube it forms a seal, maintaining the conditions within the tube, perfect for use with delicate anaerobic cultures.
