The Alpha Laboratories’ sterile, non-vented 95mm x 16mm petri dish is perfect for microbiological culture of anaerobes and other long-term culture applications.

Manufactured from high-grade polystyrene these plates offer exceptional transparency and culture observation. Designed without vents the lids sit directly on the bottom, keeping liquids in and stopping cultures from drying out, whilst allowing a small amount of gas exchange. Standard vented dishes can allow plates to dry out within days or weeks, but non-vented dishes can retain their moisture for months. This provides better growth conditions for anaerobes, obligate and facultative, and other organisms, such as C.elegans . A ridge on the perimeter of the lid allows these plates to stack easily and renders them non-slip allowing for exceptional ease of use.

These plates are manufactured aseptically in clean rooms of at least ISO class 8, in accordance with ISO 14644-1 to ensure freedom from biological contaminants, allowing you to culture with increased confidence.
