BÜHLMANN Gangliocombi™ MAG ELISA (EK-GCM) ELISA for screening and confirmation of autoantibodies against myelin associated glycoprotein (MAG) and gangliosides GM1, GM2, GD1a, GD1b and GQ1b . This ELISA kit contains a combined IgG/IgM conjugate for screening of samples and distinct IgG and IgM conjugates for confirmatory and quantification of specific autoantibodies.

BÜHLMANN GanglioCombi™ MAG ELISA is the ideal and efficient tool to support investigations of a peripheral neuropathy with a possible immunological background. The assay combines MAG and gangliosides on the same plate and enables a targeted screening of the most prominent immune-mediated neuropathies. The kit features all enzyme label-conjugates and allows for an efficient and complete work-up in two steps.

Values may be interpreted and related to 1 of 4 titre categories: Negative (0-30%), Positive (50-100%) and Strongly Positive (>100%, i. e. above the Calibrator). The Grey zone (30-50%) matches up with the basic concept in immunology that values rarely are rarely black or white. MAG (IgM) positive results point to putative MAG Neuropathy or MGUS (monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance). Confirmation by anti-MAG ELISA is recommended.
