Ruthenium (III) Hydroxyapatite HAP supported catalyst 5g produced by FUJIFILM Wako Chemical Corporation
RuHAP, developed by Prof. Kiyotomi Kaneda of Osaka Univ., is a novel, bound oxidation catalyst in the presence of molecular oxygen. Hydroxyapatite is a natural, inorganic crystallized compound. Using its surface as ligand, RuHAP is obtained by treating the surface with RuCl3 aqueous solution. Because molecular oxygen (O2) or air is used for reaction, it is unnecessary to use toxic heavy metals such as chromic acid or manganese dioxide, and clean oxidation can be carried out.
