Pyrroloquinoline Quinone is a coenzyme for a dehydrogenase and is involved in a number of oxidation-reduction reactions including bacterial dehydrogenases for alcohols, aldehydes and glycerol, and mammalian amino oxidases and amine dehydrogenases. It enhances cellular growth of animals and microorganisms, and as pharmacological action, inhibits liver damage and so forth.
