Hydrogen peroxide is an important metabolic intermediate for the determination of food quality, environmental substances and microanalysis. DA-64 is a water soluble colouring reagent used to determine hydrogen peroxide in the presence of peroxidase (POD) with high sensitivity. POD catalyses the reaction of H2O2 and the chromogen DA-64 to develop N -(4-{[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]imino}-2,5-cyclohexadien-1-ylidene)- N -methylmethanaminium chloride Bindschelder's green).
