Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (D-MEM) is a basic cell culture medium widely used in various experiments. This product contains 4,500 mg/L of glucose and sodium pyruvate, but does not contain glutamine or phenol red. In studies of autophagy, cells are put in a state of starvation, and therefore products that do not contain amino acids are used.
