Product Information
Human recombinant Interleukin-4 (IL-4) produced by FUJIFILM Wako Chemical Corporation
A cytokine with a diverse range of functions, interleukin 4 (IL-4) is produced primarily by T cells, NK-T cells, basophils and mast cells. IL-4 promotes the differentiation of naive CD4+T cells to TH2 cells via the expression of GATA-3. This in turn induces the secretion of cytokines associated with the humoral immune response such as IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-10 and IL-13. Another important function is its role in facilitating immunoglobulin class switching of IgM into IgG1 and IgE. Excessive secretion of IL-4 from Th2 cells results in upregulation of IgE production and allergic reactions. The expression and modification of IL-4, GATA-3 and other related molecules is anticipated to be a key factor in developing new methods of preventing and treating allergies and autoimmune disorders.
Human Recombinant Interleukin-4 (rhIL-4) 20µg
Expressed in E Coli
Animal-derived-free – this cytokine was produced without using animal derived components in the culture process.
Lyophilised without additives
Molecular weight: 15,100
Biological activity: The ED50 is less than 0.2ng/ml, determined by its ability to stimulate the proliferation of human TF-1 cells, corresponding to a specific activity of >5x106 units/mg.
Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0mg/ml. This working solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
Endotoxin: less than 0.1ng/µg
Store at -20°C.
For Research Use Only (RUO).
