Insulin-like growth factor is known to have 2 subtypes and this product is type II. It has a specific receptor and promotes the proliferation of various cells in a culture system. It is closely associated with growth hormone and is involved in cross talk in the body in cooperation with the same. It has recently been reported to promote cell proliferation and bone formation in rat cells concentration-dependently. Other actions include promotion of glucose uptake and oxidation in fat tissue and muscle (insulin-like action) and promotion of DNA synthesis in fibroblasts, etc

Biological activity: The ED₅₀ is less than 2.0ng/ml, determined by its ability to stimulate the proliferation of mouse FDC-P1 cells, corresponding to a specific activity of >5x10⁵ units/mg.


Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0mg/ml. This working solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
