Product Information
Quantitative Kinetic Chromogenic Assay (KCA) determination of Peptidoglycan (PG) and (1->3)-β-D-glucan in parental solutions and active pharmaceutical.
The SLP-HS Single Reagent Set II can detect both PG and (1->3)-β-D-glucan. The product uses a self-defence mechanism of silkworm Bombyx mori which leads to a colour change by building a black melanin pigment in the presence of microbial contamination. Since PG is found in all bacterial cell walls and BDG in most fungi, the SLP (silkworm larvae plasma)-reagent constitutes a highly sensitive and broadband method for detection of microbial contamination.
Key Features
-SLP (Silkworm Larvae Plasma reagent) based test principle
-Assay Kinetic Colorimetric
-PG isolated from S. aureus used as standard
-Detection limit: 1 pg/ml (BDG) / 10pg/ml (PG)
-Specimen: any sample
-Analysis automated through Toximaster® software
-Measurement time: 120 minutes at 30 °C
-Sensitivity: 10 pg/mL (PG), 1 pg/mL (β-glucan) (detected within 120 minutes with Toxinometer® at 30℃)
-Storage: 2-8°C
Kit Components
-20 x 0.1 mL vials SLP-HS Reagent II (Lyophilized reagent containing silkworm Larvae Plasma and DOPA)
-2 x 5.0 mL vials SLP-Diluent
-1 x 0.5 mL vial Standard (digested peptidoglycan from Staphylococcus aureus)
