BF-187 Amyloid β & neurofibrillary tangle fluorescent probe produced by FUJIFILM Wako Chemical Corporation
BF-187 is a flourescence probe that stains both amyloid β plaques and neurofibrillary tangles. Both plaques and tangles can be visualised simultaneusly with a single excitation wavelength.
Soluble in methanol, BF-178 has an excitation wavelength of 400-440nm and emission wavelength 540nm.
Staining Method:
Deparaffinise the section on a glass slide
Wash the section with MQ for 10 minutes
Blanch the section with 0.25% potassium permanganate solution for 20 minutes
Wash the section twice with PBS for 2 minutes
Immerse the section in 0.1% potassium metabisulphite and 0.15% oxalic acid for a few seconds
Wash the section three times with PBS for 2 minutes
Immerse the quenched tissue section with 100µmol/L BF-187 solution containing 50% ethanol for 10 minutes
Dip the section in water five times, immersing for a few seconds.
Examine the stained section using a fluorescence microscope.
