Selecting the right comb or combination of combs enables you to tailor your Clarit-E system to your precise requirements. 2 combs of your choice are included with all our gel tanks, but extra combs can be purchased separately.

The combs are made in a 2-piece construction with a rigid back which prevents warping. Reversible loading guides sit directly above each well to provide a convenient loading template.

Preparatory combs with 1, 2 or 4 sample wells plus 1 or 2 marker lanes allow you to maximise the amount of sample processed, while combs with additional wells increase sample capacity.

Combs are available in 4 different thicknesses: thinner combs maximise sample volume for sharp, narrow bans, while thicker combs are ideal for sample recovery for further processing.

All combs are labelled with the number of wells, and the different thicknesses are colour coded for easy identification.


Purple - 0.5mm for ultra resolved bands.
Black - 0.75mm for ultra resolved bands.
White - 1mm the most commonly used thickness.
Red - 1.5mm for maximising sample volume.
Blue - 2mm for maximising sample volume.


PLEASE NOTE: Comb and spacer thickness must be the same. All tanks are supplied with plates with 1mm thick spacers, if your comb thickness is changed, the spacers will also need to be changed.
