This blotting insert can be purchased as an optional addition to the Clarit-E Mini Wide Vertical gel tank allowing both PAGE and blotting to be carried out in the same electrophoresis tank. The Blot insert module uses electroblotting to facilitate Western Blotting and protein/nucleic acid transfer. Units are interchangeable with Clarit-E PAGE and tube gel inserts.
Gel capacity is 8x Mini 10x10cm or 4x Mini Wide 20x10cm gels. Transfer up to four 20x10cm gels overnight with low intensity. Platinum wire electrodes 8cm apart generate a powerful electric field for efficient transfer. Open design, rigid cassettes maximise current transfer and eliminate 'shadow band' formation; colour coded to ensure proper orientation within the blotting system.
