Have you heard of Laboratree? It’s Alpha’s campaign to plant trees and make a positive contribution to the environment. Customers who purchase Fastrak tip refills qualify for trees to be planted and the more they purchase the faster the forest grows. Only native species are planted including Birch, Rowan, Willow and Caledonian Pine.
If you are interested in the green benefits of Fastrak tip refills, the chances are that you are conscious of the ever-increasing demands on the earth’s resources and would like to help to preserve them for future generations. At Alpha, we believe that it’s important to give something positive back to the environment and here’s how you can help us to do this.
It’s very simple – why not join now and support our ‘Laboratree’ campaign to plant indigienous trees in the Scottish Highlands?
Once you have registered, we’ll send you a Laboratree collector’s card with your unique ID. Use this card to affix tokens supplied with each Fastrak pack and when you’ve collected 30, pop it back in the post to us free of charge. We’ll plant a tree for you and send you a personalised certificate plus a new collector’s card.
We want to be sure that the tree certificates are sent to the right people so for 2010 we have introduced an on-line registration process for both new and existing Laboratree participants. It’s quick and easy – why not sign up now?.
You can register as an individual on behalf of your organisation or if you are big Fastrak users then why not register several people and fill up multiple cards. Each full card returned to Alpha will qualify for a tree.
When you register with Laboratree, your first collector’s card will include 20 free tokens to get you well on your way to your first tree for 2010.
We've joined forces with Carbon Managers who work to increase awareness of carbon issues. Planting trees is one of their many activities and the scheme in which we are involved is to re-wild the Alladale reserve and restore it to its former glory. The trees are planted by the Challenger Trust which gives disadvantaged children and young adults valuable outdoor experiences. Your Laboratree certificate will show the GPS reference where your trees are located. These include Birch, Rowan and Willow on the river banks and Caledonian Pine on the hills.
The campaign is proving to be a great success. Working with the Carbon Managers in the Scottish Highlands, Alpha planted 364 trees in 2009 –that’s one nearly every day. If you have invested in Fastrak, you can feel good that you are not only using the most eco-friendly tip refill available, you’re also giving something back to nature. We issue special tree planting certificates to participating Companies to acknowledge their contribution.
In 2010 with your help, we hope to plant even more trees than last year. We will keep you posted on our progress with regular updates so keep checking our website for the latest news.
