Overview

Alpha pipette tips are manufactured from medical grade polypropylene in modern production facilities with stringent quality controls at every stage. Where appropriate, certificates are available for tips to show they are sterile, free from DNase, RNase, endotoxins and DNA. This means that you can protect your samples with the assurance of quality and reliability right to the last tip in the box. Tip fit is tested on all the major pipette brands and details are shown for each tip on the relevant catalogue page.

Filter Tips

There are 2 Alpha filter tip ranges and both are certified to be free of RNase, DNase, DNA, Pyrogens, ATP and trace metals.

  1. ZAP® Premier: These tips provide ultimate protection of your pipette from both aerosols and fluid contamination. The pores in this filter are very small (~10μm) so that in the event of over-pipetting, the filter blocks the overdrawn fluid but does not absorb it so the sample can be completely dispensed. Tips are autoclavable and sterilised by gamma radiation.
  2. Aerogard®: This comprehensive range has a wide choice of tip formats to fit the majority of pipettes. It provides excellent protection of your samples and instruments from carry-over and cross-contamination. Aerogard® tips are perfect for PCR, radioisotope work and handling viruses and serological samples. They are sterilised by electron beam radiation. Tips are autoclavable.

Non-Filter Tips

We have non-filter tips in a variety of formats including loose, racked and our leading eco-friendly tip refill system, Fastrak®. Sizes cover the complete volume range from 0.1μl to 10ml. For those looking to maximise their budgets, our popular 'Everyday' tips offer superb quality and value for money. They are made from the same moulds as other tips in our range but without certification.

Fastrak

Fastrak® is an ingenious, pipette tip refill system, designed to reduce waste, save time and help you lower your carbon footprint.
Compared with other refill systems, it is smaller, lighter and has less packaging.

Low Retention Tips

These have an ultra-smooth surface that reduces the amount of sample retained by the tip. They are perfect for dispensing viscous solutions, precious samples or very small volumes.

Gel-Loading Tips

Gel loading tips offer an ideal solution for gel electrophoresis. Their narrow delivery orifice dispenses the complete sample to the bottom of the well, resulting in high quality data. We have round or flat tips with a choice of widths: Round tips (o.d: 0.57mm) are used for loading gels such as SDS PAGE. Flat tips (o.d: 0.17 and 0.37mm) are used for sequencing gels

Some tips are available with additional features such as extended length for access to the bottom of narrow vessels and gel wells. Others have filters for pipette protection.
