Cryogenic Vials

cryogenis vials Alpha Laboratories offers a range of three types of cryogenic vials designed for safe ultra-low temperature storage.

All products in this range are certified free from RNase, DNase, pyrogen and DNA. They come in either free-standing or round bottom base design.

Strong vial and cap – a special grade of polypropylene chosen for its consistent strength is used to make all our vials. As a result both vial and cap can withstand the harsh –196C temperature of vapour phase liquid nitrogen.
Secure seal – the cap and tube are made from the same material so with temperature change they shrink and expand in unison
Fast opening/closing – 1¼ turn is all that is required to close the cap securely. This is important when large quantities of vials are being used because it saves time and means there is less chance of the cap not being closed securely.
Simple one handed operation – all free standing vials, when used with our work station, enable you to unscrew vials with one hand.
Sterile – all vials are gamma irradiated to ensure absolute sterility
Certified free from Rnase, Dnase, Pyrogens, human DNA and metals
Clear graduations – at 100µl intervals to facilitate reading of your sample volume
Large white marking area – for sample labelling and identification
Free-standing and locking base
Supplied in tamper-evident, resealable bags – clean and sterile
Cap insert – available in 11 different colours. Perfect for colour coding

“The Classic” Collection – designed for basic security

Internally threaded with a silicone washer. Designed to improve safety compared with standard screw-cap microcentrifuge tubes. “The Classic” uses a square section washer that compresses tightly between the cap and the top of the tube wall.

“Feel the Seal” Range – ideal for storage of large batches

Cryoboxes

Made of extra strong polycarbonate, these durable cryogenic storage boxes are designed to be used at temperatures between –196 and 121C. Different models are available to accommodate 25, 81 or 100 cryogenic vials from 1.2 to 5ml.

A transparent cover allows the user to see the contents of the box and is keyed to the base to prevent misalignment. Printed with a series of squares (numbered 1 to 25, 1 to 81 or 1 to 100) the surface accepts writing with markers, facilitating inventory control.

On the 25 and 81 place Cryoboxes there is a unique colour coding system of coloured plastic grids to separate the cover from the base. On 100 place boxes, a colour base instead of a grid is used. An innovative vial picker is supplied with each storage box for quick removal of vials. A choice of four popluar colours are available.

Each well houses an integral locking ring that couples with the locking base of all our free-standing vials to prevent it from rotating when unscrewing the cap, perfect for when your other hand has a pipette in it!
