Sickle Cell Screening Overview
Sickle cell anemia is a type of disease which is also called sickle cell disease and Haemaglobin SS disease. This is due to the fact that it is caused by mutated hemoglobin called Hemoglobin S. Sickle cell anemia is a recessive trait. This means that in order for a child to suffer both parents must carry the trait.
