Flow Cytometry
The range of sample preservation products include:
As immunophenotyping moved from the research laboratory in to the clinical laboratory, the need for controls grew as did the pressure on the instrument availability. Streck Cell Preservative®, which preserves whole blood, as well as many other sample types for up to seven days facilitates easy transport of samples and batching.
However, development did not stop there, and Cyto-Chex ® BCT was introduced, a direct-draw vacuum blood collection tube that contains a preservative reagent. The integrity of white blood cells is maintained at room temperature for three times longer than traditional methods.
Developed over 15 years, CD-Chex® Plus controls for immunophenotyping by flow cytometry. They closely resemble patient samples with the inclusion of both red and white cells stabilised in a way which preserves the antigen sites. CD-Chex® also offer a complete process control when evaluating CD-34
Streck Cell Preservative
Streck Cell Preservative is an easy-to-use liquid preservative that stabilises cell morphology and preserves cellular antigen expression.
- Data available to support use with peripheral blood lumph nodes, bone marrow and cord blood
- Samples collected in Streck Cell Preservative are stable for up to 7 days
- Closed-Vial-Stability: 1 year at room temperature
- Facilitates sample batching to reduce daily flow cytometry start-up costs
- Simple 1:1 dilution with sample
The proof of Stability
Light scatter profiles comparing K2EDTA bone marrow samples diluted 1:1 with Streck Cell Preservative at six hours to the same K2EDTA sample diluted 1:1 with Streck Cell preservative analysed at three days post collection.
